Our AC Repair Services

Signs your AC is low on refrigerant

  • Warm or barely cool air from the vents while the system runs and runs
  • Ice on the copper lines or the indoor coil
  • A hissing or bubbling sound near the air handler or line set
  • Water around the air handler after the ice melts
  • A power bill that keeps climbing with no change in use

Why we fix the leak instead of just topping it off

An AC is a sealed system. It does not use up refrigerant, so a low charge always means a leak. Adding a few pounds without finding the leak buys a few weeks or months, then you pay for the same refrigerant again, and the low charge in between overheats the compressor, the most expensive part in the system. We locate the leak, repair it, and recharge to the manufacturer's spec, so the fix lasts.

What a leak repair visit includes

  • Electronic leak detection and, when needed, a nitrogen pressure test or UV dye to pinpoint the leak
  • Repair at the source: a coil, a line-set joint, a valve core, or a fitting, or a coil replacement when the leak is inside the coil
  • Full evacuation of the system, then a charge weighed in to spec and verified by superheat and subcooling readings
  • A check of the condensate drain, capacitor, and airflow, since a low charge usually leaves other symptoms behind

Older R-22 systems: repair or replace?

R-22 (the old "Freon") has not been produced or imported in the U.S. since 2020, so recharging an R-22 system is expensive and only gets more so. If your system runs on R-22 and needs more than a minor repair, we'll give you an honest comparison against a free estimate on a replacement, which will run on a current refrigerant and cut your cooling cost at the same time. Newer systems use R-410A and, since 2025, lower-impact refrigerants such as R-454B; we service all of them.

Frequently-Asked Questions

Can you just add Freon to my AC?

We can recharge it, but a low charge means there is a leak, and adding refrigerant without finding it is a temporary fix that also strains the compressor. We locate and repair the leak first, then recharge to spec, so you are not paying for the same refrigerant twice.

How much does a refrigerant leak repair cost?

It depends on where the leak is and what refrigerant the system uses. We give you a service-call price by phone, and the technician confirms the repair cost on site after finding the leak. You approve the price before any work starts.

Is R-22 refrigerant still available?

We understand the urgency of refrigerator and cooler issues. Our team strives to provide prompt service, aiming for quick response times to address your needs. Contact us, and we’ll schedule a convenient appointment for you as soon as possible.

How do I know it's a leak and not something else?

Ice on the lines, warm air, and a hissing sound point to refrigerant, but a frozen coil can also come from a dirty filter or a bad blower motor. We check airflow and electrical parts along with the charge so we fix the real cause.
